Microsoft Power BI - Introdcution

Hi All,

Today I would like to introduce a Tool Released by Microsoft Called as "POWER BI".

As per my understanding its a combination of four tools which were released by Microsoft -

  • Power Pivot.
  • Power Query.
  • Power View.
  • Power Map.

I would be exploring the Product and will be sharing the Information as per my learnings and understanding.

Now most of you might be thinking why a Navision Consultant should worry about a tool released by Microsoft. -- That is what I thought Initially but it add values to us too.

How Microsoft Define It -

"Power BI for Office 365 is Microsoft's cloud-based business intelligence (BI) solution that works from within Excel and Office 365 to analyze and visualize data in a self-service way. The BI solution is designed to help business users gain insights from their data and, according to Microsoft, includes :Power Query, Power Map, Power Pivot & Power View."

Just to Brief about data format that it connects to.

I have highlighted some that we can use w.r.t Navision. If you see the list above then you might find that its kind of get data from most of the available sources.

Seems Interesting? Stay Tuned for me, I will be coming up with some more information later.

Regards,
Saurav Dhyani
